CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

CO2 laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that uses the CO2 laser to remove the top outer layers of skin from the face.

After this process, sun damaged skin, acne scarring, age spots, and discolorations are reduced or eliminated.

The new skin that develops has a more youthful appearance as wrinkles are softened or completely eliminated, along with surface facial skin irregularities.

This is a short surgical procedure done on an outpatient, day surgery basis, with no overnight stay required. It is performed under IV sedation and local anesthesia.

Post-operative care includes: avoiding sun exposure until the face is completely healed, as well as the use of prescription healing creams to ensure healthy new skin development.

In most cases, make-up can be worn ten days post-operatively giving patients the ability to return back to work.

Dr. Jaffe’s extensive experience using the CO2 laser makes him an expert at performing CO2 laser skin resurfacing.
